JNF TELEGRAM

Emil Ranzenhofer designed the Jewish National Fund Greeting Telegram (notice the Lion of Judah inside the Star of David - this would become a hallmark of Emil's JNF work).  These Telegrams were used to raise money for the JNF.  Supporters would purchase these forms for the price of a telegram, but they would be sent by regular post.  The difference between the cost of sending a telegram and regular post was a donation to the JNF.  Each country had a different colored inset and were printed in the local language to correspond wih the Hebrew text.  Shown here is an example of this telegram in both Hebrew and German Text.  Versions of these telegrams were also in other languages including English, French, Romanian, Hungarian, Russian,  Czecholslovakian, Polish, and Bulgarian.
